Czech Post INFO - Current situation in parcel delivery

The Czech Post is urging all its clients to consider visiting any branch. If they need to deal with their postal affairs without delay, they are asked to wear protective equipment, ideally a veil. All branches are cashless, which in the current situation reduces the potential transmission of the virus. In view of the current situation, we have decided that in the case of closed locations, we will discuss with the individual regional health stations the possibility of delivering mail in that location. In the case of closed sites, the parcels will be deposited without any attempted delivery, with an extended storage period.

The Czech Post will make every effort to ensure that pensions are delivered in all cases. In localities closed by regional health stations, the possibility of pension delivery will be communicated with this organisation. Delivery will then take place either with the assistance of state security forces or with protective equipment. In other localities, the procedure for pension delivery will also be adapted to avoid direct contact between postmen and clients. The money will be handed over to the recipient in an envelope placed on the ground.

For enrolled mail, letters will always be deposited at the depository post office without any attempt at delivery. For these deposited items, the storage period will be extended to 30 days. Parcels will be deposited in closed locations without attempted delivery and will have a storage period of 15 or 30 days (depending on the type of parcel). In other cases, for non-enclosed locations, packages will be delivered without direct contact with the addressee. The addressee will be asked to place the personal document on the ground or other suitable place and to step back. The bearer will take the document, verify the identity, and write it down. The parcel will be handed over to him in the same way. When the delivery is completed, the bearer shall treat his hands with disinfectant spray.

Promotional material will not be delivered or accepted until further notice. The 'Comprehensive Delivery' and 'Appliance Collection' services have also been discontinued.
