Project day at a nursery and school in Ratiboř...
As part of the ongoing Be Ready project, we involved children from the Ratiboř nursery and primary school in an important topic – how they imagine transforming selected locations in Ratiboř that suffer from the urban heat island effect (UHI).
The younger children from the nursery school
were given black-and-white photographs of these places and, using crayons, felt-tip pens and brushes, they breathed new life into them. They added trees, flowers, water features, shadows and places to rest.
Older children from the primary school
went even further and created their own designs for the future appearance of these locations – according to their ideas, Ratiboř could not only be more beautiful, but also more climate-resilient.
All these beautiful creations will be exhibited in the centre of the village during the holidays so that residents, visitors and tourists can see them. For more information about the location and dates, please visit
We would like to thank all the children and their teachers for their creativity and willingness to think about how our village can be a more pleasant place to live, even on hot days.
