Ratiboř

Together with our member Esterka Miniariková they are planting, growing and grafting fruit trees. Many have already established mostly plum orchards. The result is a harvest of quality plums, which are mostly processed into plum brandy.

A member of our ZO, Břetislav Kovář from Kateřinice, took part in the IXth International Festival of Spirits and Liqueurs with a sample of plum brandy produced in 2018, where he won a high award. He scored 49 points in the 46-50 points for a distillate of excellent quality. 905 plum brandy samples were entered into the competition.

The competition took place from 28 February 2020 - 1 March 2020 in Svatobořice-Mistřín. A total of 2469 spirits and liqueurs from growers from Moravia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Australia, Austria and other countries were entered for tasting. The expert tasting was attended by 196 tasters.

The friends of the gardeners congratulate Bret Kovář heartily and hope that he will enter the competition in future years, because the best slivovitz was, is and will always be from Wallachia.
