This year, for the first time, we launched the Young Health Worker summer club for primary school children.
A total of 8 children signed up for the club, but during the course of the club, new children came to see how the club was run. The whole club was led by Jitka Pařenicová and assisted by Iva Slováčková. We met with the children every Tuesday in the afternoon at the firehouse, sometimes we stayed outside when the weather allowed us. We tried to have the whole circle in the form of fun. Throughout the holidays, our medics learned the basics of anatomy - body parts and bones, giving first aid, learned dressing techniques and proper resuscitation, and we also skated on the road. We repeated the road signs and also the mandatory equipment for bicycles and cyclists. We tested our knowledge of road traffic in practice and went to the traffic playground in Kroměříž, which is taken care of by the Regional Association of the Czech Red Cross Kroměříž, where we were welcomed with open arms and the children took away not only a beautiful experience, but also a small gift. We finished the whole circle with a final test and a practical exam. The test was based on all the information we provided to the children. All the children passed with flying colours and therefore received a participation certificate. We celebrated the final tests appropriately too!
We firmly believe that the children enjoyed the club and that we will be able to run the club again next year.
