First graders at Thronus Regis
The first grade students went for a walk to a place called Thronus Regis or the King's Throne.
It was in these places that the story of an important monastery could begin more than 700 years ago. In 1306, the last ruler of the Přemyslid family, King Wenceslas III, wanted to establish a Cistercian monastery called Thronus Regis here.
The walk was an opportunity for our first-graders to get to know a piece of the history of Ratiboř and to realize that even seemingly ordinary places in our surroundings can hide remarkable stories.
