...took place on Thursday, April 30, and marked the end of Witch Week at the after-school club.
The children learned to identify spring herbs for potions, designed a witch’s hat, and made a cat—a must-have for every proper witch.
On Thursday, we dressed up in costumes and hats, and Abracadabra began... Four witch teams came up with their own spells, and each had their own bat. In the garden, an old witch hid letters for us, from which we then solved a puzzle—a magic potion.
Each team brewed one potion along with a spell (a potion for love, for everything, for healing, for luck, ...) using herbs and other ingredients hidden in secret places.
We mixed frog legs, snake bile, fox ears, bat blood, and boar eyes, and topped it all off with magic water—yum. We also flew on broomsticks and had a witch’s revelry. But that made us hungry… a big surprise was hot pizza from one magical mom for our witch’s snack.
A big thank you goes out to all the parents who brought original and delicious treats for the witches and wizards. Thank you to everyone who participated.
We all had a great time together with the witch-in-training. See you again next year!
