Wallachian ensemble KOSISKA
Article title
During the feast weekend, young hounds learned from experienced odzemkars. The highlight was the performance at the Ratiboř Fair.
The feast weekend in Ratiboř belonged, among other things, to young odzemkars. Ogars aged 10-15 met at a seminar dedicated to one of the most distinctive manifestations of Wallachian folklore – the male dance of odzemek.
And they definitely had someone to learn from! Roman Navrátil, Broňa Jašek, Roman Martinek and Pavel Ptáček passed on their experience, dance skills, singing and, above all, enthusiasm for Wallachian traditions – great dancers, singers and, above all, giant heartthrobs.
An exceptional experience was also the two hours spent under the guidance of Jan Kysučan, ethnologist, choreographer and current head of the dance section of the ONDRÁŠ Military Art Ensemble.
But the seminar did not stay just behind the door of the rehearsal room. As part of the Ratiboř Feast Fair, experienced odzemkars prepared an hour-long program full of dance, singing and Wallachian energy, which received a huge response from the audience! The musical accompaniment was provided by our dulcimer band Jarášek, for whom it was the first experience with accompanying the odzemkars. And they did it perfectly!
A big thank you goes to all those who devoted their time, experience and a piece of their heart to the young hounds, but also to the folklore ensemble Kosiska and the village of Ratiboř, with whose support this exceptional weekend took place. It is thanks to such meetings that Wallachian traditions are passed on, from generation to generation.
