It's been more than a year since mothers and their little ones met in our library for the first time - on 18 April 2024 we started regular meetings within the Bookstart - With a book to life project. Since then, we have been meeting every month and every time a nice programme awaits children and adults: we read beautiful books accompanied by props, sing with Jitka Mikšíková, play and create based on book stories.

Together we read the following books during the year: The Mole and the Mouse, The Black Cat and the White Cat, Chrochtík and Kvikalka, About a Curious Puppy, Papuchalk Petr, The Little Box, The Hungry Caterpillar, Guess How Much I Love You (Autumn, Winter, Spring), The Bison is Looking for a Nest, Lisa the Goose and the Christmas Star, Bertie the Lion, How Mr. Green Lost his Green, Ajdar, Where is the Right Balloon and Choo Choo.

The programme was also enriched by our lovely guests Hanka Janíčková and Lukáš Kamas. Most often, however, it is the mothers themselves who create joyful moments - whether by singing together, coming up with creative ideas or playing with a bubble blower.

The project also includes gift sets for young readers, which we started giving out to new families in 2024. In the library you will also find an expanded collection of educational literature on education - from books on the Montessori approach, through publications on personality typology by Šarka Miková to titles by Pavla Koucka on relaxed parenting.

We are not just about passing on our love of books, but also about spending time together, sharing and supporting parents.
