Traffic analysis of the section above the football field in Ratiboř
In our village, an orientation traffic count and speed measurement with a hidden radar over the football field was carried out by Empemont between 25 November 2019 and 2 December 2019. The device measured the speed of cars in both directions of traffic. Over the week 29,333 vehicles were detected, of which ONLY 23% of drivers were speeding. The highest speed measured in the direction from Hošťálková was 120 km/h and in the opposite direction speeds exceeding 150 km/h were measured. We will consult with the Vsetín Municipal Authority and the police on the next steps to calm the traffic situation in the village.

Update February 2020
In cooperation with Empemont, we are continuing the traffic analysis in the municipality, which we informed you about in the last issue of the newsletter. In addition to the hidden radar, a light radar showing the speed of vehicles has been installed in the section above the football field. In the period 11-18 February 2020, a total of 13 496 vehicles passed in the direction of Hošťálková. Compared to the previous measurement, there was up to 40% improvement in speed compliance. We are consulting on further procedures to help calm the traffic situation in the village. A proposal for a traffic light at the entrance to the village from Hošťálková will be prepared for the council.

Update March 2021
A new speed camera has been installed at the upper end to assist with the speed limit for vehicles travelling from the direction of Hoshtalka in this section of the village. In this part of the village, on the straight section of the main road by the play area, we record frequent instances of speeding. In order to increase safety, we are trying to regulate this mischief. During February, a weekly control measurement was carried out, the analysis of which showed that there has been a significant improvement in speeding. This control measurement by hidden radar was first carried out in December 2019 and you can compare the results of both measurements in the following graphs.

The real results are that these speed indicators work on a certain group of drivers, but those who don't want to slow down will never slow down - it's all about people. So we ask all drivers to take their foot off the gas in the communities.
