On April 23, 2026, the Jarášek Dulcimer Band set out on a concert tour of the United States.

The year 2020 saw the founding of the extraordinary Jarášek Dulcimer Band, which was established under the auspices of the Morava Music School and quickly captured the attention of audiences. Dulcimer music has a deep-rooted tradition in Wallachia, and the Jarášek Dulcimer Band successfully builds upon this rich history of Czech folk culture. The group was founded with the goal of taking folk music to a new level using traditional instruments.

The band’s lineup includes the dulcimer, violin, double bass, clarinet, flutes, and other traditional instruments.

Jarášek does not limit itself to traditional songs—it experiments with new arrangements and modern elements that give folk melodies a fresh and contemporary sound. The band regularly performs at concerts and festivals, and through its combination of traditional and modern expression, it bridges generations and offers listeners a powerful musical experience.

Robin Lefner serves as the artistic director and instructor.

The ensemble consists of young musicians from the HoKaRa communities, which many of you are familiar with. We are all the more delighted that a group hailing from our very own neighborhood has the opportunity to showcase Wallachian traditions overseas and proudly represent our region.
