Saturday, April 11, 2026 – a day dedicated to cleaning up the village and the surrounding countryside…
As part of this year’s Let’s Clean Up Ratiboř event, our village held its traditional cleanup of public spaces and the surrounding countryside. Volunteers focused primarily on cleaning ditches along the roads, the stream bed, and the natural areas along the bike path.
Cleanup also took place along the roads leading to the Kobelné, Hološín, and Borčí valleys, as well as along the road to the cottages below the transmitter.
This year once again confirmed that holding this event regularly every year is of great importance. Compared to previous years, there was slightly less trash again, which is proof that people are gradually becoming more aware of the importance of nature conservation and a clean environment. During the cleanup, we managed to collect a trailer load of trash behind a tractor, totaling approximately 500 kg. In addition to collecting trash, we also cleaned up the playground near the old rectory and partially painted the wooden structures of the climbing frames to make the playground a more pleasant and safer place for children again.
A big thank you goes to all the volunteers, a total of 38 of whom gathered this year across various age groups. One four-legged helper also symbolically joined the event—a dog that accompanied its owners during the cleanup.
After the cleanup, light refreshments were provided for all volunteers, and we then gathered together at the kindergarten grounds for a pleasant barbecue, where there was time not only to relax but also to socialize and share experiences from the entire event.
Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped make our neighborhood cleaner and more pleasant for everyone.
