Ratiboř

As part of the international BE READY project, a new bioclimatic bus stop with a green roof was presented to the public on the first day of school – a modern and sustainable solution that helps improve the microclimate in our village.

The BE READY project itself was first presented by the mayor of the village, Martin Žabčík, who also explained why this particular location in the center of the village was chosen and why a bus stop. The technology and functioning of the bus stop itself were then presented by Zdeněk Balga, a representative of www.fairteco.eu, the company that designed and implemented the bus stop.

The station uses an adiabatic cooling system, in which water flowing through honeycomb panels cools the air flowing through these panels. The water circulates in the panels and is also used for automatic irrigation of greenery at 16-hour intervals.

The event also included an art exhibition of ideas from children in Ratiboř on how they would imagine cooling the center of the village. The exhibition was very well received, so we moved the children's designs to the lobby of the municipal office, where you can also see them. We would like to thank all the children for their interest in the future of our village!

The bus stop was created as part of the BE READY program (project number: DRP0200793), which supports the resilience of municipalities to climate change.

On September 1, 2025, at 2 p.m., there will be a ceremonial opening of the new bioclimatic bus stop in the village of Ratiboř.

What to expect:

• A live exhibition of works by children from Ratiboř – their creative ideas on how to tackle urban warming.
• The opportunity to see the bus stop with your own eyes and find out how it works in practice.
