Last year, we announced the municipality's plan to convert the house behind the cinema into a children's group. Project documentation was prepared for this purpose based on a study by architect Libor Sošťák. We submitted a grant application to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs last year.

During the spring months, we were informed that our application had been approved. We can now begin renovating the building and converting it into a children's group.

If, in the future, the capacity of the nursery school is sufficient and the children's group is no longer needed, the building is designed so that it can also be used to provide social services for the elderly, taking into account the aging population.

Due to the lengthy administration of the application by the ministry, the time for implementation is very short. The renovation must be completed by the end of 2025, after which the children's group must be registered and begin operations. The municipal council therefore announced a tender for the construction contractor in advance. The winner was TM Stav s.r.o., which took over the construction site at the beginning of June and started the work. The renovation of the childcare center will cost a total of 24,854,000, including VAT. The subsidy from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is 79%. At the same time, we are still waiting for the results of a grant call from the Ministry of Regional Development, where we have submitted an application for additional funding for this project from the municipal building renovation program. If we receive support, the construction will be completely financed by grants.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced a call for proposals for the establishment of children's groups. Up to CZK 20 million and a 100% subsidy can be obtained, which are very interesting and attractive conditions. In cooperation with the director of the kindergarten, we have decided to take advantage of this opportunity and submit an application for a subsidy.

What exactly is a children's group?

It is a preschool facility that functions practically as a kindergarten, but with less stringent operating conditions than a kindergarten. The maximum capacity of the group is 12 children, and it is open to children aged two to seven. Establishing such a group will help the kindergarten maintain sufficient capacity, as there is a problem with placing two-year-old children. If a kindergarten accepts a two-year-old child, the capacity of individual classes decreases rapidly. This is because more square meters are required per child in the classroom for two-year-olds than for three-year-olds. We can run a children's group with a capacity of 12 children with one teacher and one nursery nurse. The costs of staff and operations are also covered by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The group would be run by the nursery school and would essentially be a smaller version of a crèche.

After discussion in the municipal council, we decided to use the previously purchased house behind the cinema, No. 263, for this purpose.

Zvonek 1If the subsidy is granted, the house would undergo complete renovation and extension, including revitalization of the garden for the needs of the children's group. A study for the revitalization of house no. 263 into a children's group was prepared by Ak. Arch. Libor Sošťák, and the project documentation is being prepared by the design office MSS-projekt s.r.o. All costs associated with the project preparation can be covered by the grant. If the project is implemented, the children's group must continue to operate for five years. If it is not used, the building can be used for social services, which will be increasingly needed due to the aging population.

Zvonek 2If we manage to obtain the subsidy, another municipal building will be renovated and the range of services in the municipality will be expanded. The big challenge is the 100% support, which means that the municipality does not have to contribute anything from its own resources. The deadline for applications is the end of June this year.
