Since June, extensive revitalisation of the car park and paved areas around Ponorka has been underway. The existing dreary asphalt car park and adjacent pavements are being replaced with new permeable paving, which allows for much greater water absorption. The modification of the space is relatively complicated, as it is necessary to maintain a smooth connection between the pavements with safety features, longitudinal parking spaces and the entrance to the car park itself at the footbridge and the service building.
It was not at all easy to meet the requirements for traffic safety, especially for pedestrians. The main task is to ensure the safe movement of pedestrians. It was therefore not possible to create a single paved area, but the space had to be divided to clearly define the parking areas and the pavement.
A new access ramp to the rear of the building and the outdoor terrace will also be built. The area is already being modified in accordance with the ‘Ponorka’ building renovation project so that in the future, during the renovation of the building itself, there will be minimal interference with the paved areas.
In the front part, space has been left for the installation of a barrier-free access ramp as an entrance to the building. Flower pots will now be placed in this area. I have also often been asked why we did not excavate around the building and install new drainage.
At the start of the work, it was found that the building's insulation was severely damaged and that repairing it as part of the renovation would be technically and financially demanding. However, the roof gutters were reconnected. Many of the existing downspouts were broken in the ground, and rainwater flowed under the building in many places.
This measure alone should help to improve the moisture problems. I would also like to thank all the tenants who use the service building for their patience during the construction work.
We are aware that there are significant restrictions on operations and complications with supplies and customer access. I am very grateful for your patience and appreciate it.

In June this year, reconstruction began on the paved areas in front of the Ponorka building and the adjacent pavement leading to the footbridge at Bělíčků. The work is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.
We believe that this reconstruction will contribute to increasing comfort for residents and visitors to the village and at the same time improve the overall appearance of this busy public space.

This year, the extensive area surrounding the Ponorka service building will be revitalised. As part of the replacement of impermeable surfaces with permeable ones, the adjacent car parks will be renovated, the pavement towards the footbridge at Bělíčků will be modified and the parking spaces next to the footbridge will be rearranged. We have obtained a grant from the State Environmental Fund to carry out the project. The project will not only restore the appearance of the unsightly car park, but will also allow rainwater to seep into and be retained in the built-up area of the municipality over a relatively large area. The existing concrete and asphalt surfaces will be replaced with paving that will not only drain water into the rainwater sewer system or the adjacent stream, but will also allow it to soak into the ground across the entire area. This is one of the measures we are implementing to retain water in the landscape and in the centre of the village.
The tender is currently being prepared. The cost of the project is estimated at CZK 9 million. We will receive an 85% subsidy from the State Environmental Fund. The project is scheduled for implementation between May and October this year.
You may be wondering why the Ponorka is not being repaired first and then the car park...
However, the world of subsidies is strange and illogical. Currently, it is possible to repair the car park, so we are repairing the car park. These subsidies will end, so it was necessary to use them. We are still waiting for a call for proposals in which we will be able to apply for the repair of the Ponorka building. We are ready with the plans, but the call will not be announced until the middle of this year at the earliest, and the evaluation of applications often takes more than a year. We have to work with this fact. Believe me, if it were possible, we would repair the building first and then the surrounding areas. However, the planned reconstruction and its connection to the paved areas are taken into account in the project.
