Petanque balls can be borrowed at the U Ogarů pizzeria...
Rules of the game
1. Two teams of one, two, or three players play.
In a game with one or two players, each player has three balls; in a game with three players, each player has two balls.
2. Metal balls with a diameter of 70 to 80 mm are used for the game.
The weight of the balls must not exceed 800 g. The "jack" (a small ball or piggy) is made of wood with a diameter of 25 to 35 mm.
3. The first team is chosen by tossing a coin.
Any player from the selected team chooses a starting position and draws a circle on the ground in which they will stand. The circle should have a diameter of 35 to 50 cm.
4. This player then throws the "jack" to a distance of 6 m to 10 m.
The "jack" must not be closer than 1 m to any obstacle.
5. This player then throws their first ball as close to the "Jack" as possible.
Both of the player's feet must remain behind the line until the ball touches the ground.
6. The opposing player stands in the circle and tries to throw their ball closer to the "Jack."
They may do so by knocking the opponent's ball or the "Jack" out of the circle.
7. The team that is losing throws first
until it takes the lead or uses up all its balls.
8. When a team has no balls left,
the players of the other team throw their remaining balls.
9. Points are counted when neither team has any balls left.
The winning team scores one point for each ball that is closer to the "Jack" than the closest ball of the losing team.
10. The player from the team that won the previous game throws the "Jack" from where it was at the end of the game.
The overall winner is the team that scores a total of 13 points.
