On 1 July 2025, construction will begin on two new footbridges over the Ratibořka stream, replacing the existing unsuitable metal footbridges near Jednota and above the municipal office. Emphasis will be placed on high-quality workmanship, long service life and integration into the surrounding environment.

These are two structures combined into one project.

• The footbridge at Jednota has been in disrepair since last year's flood and is closed.
• The footbridge near the municipal office is still passable, but its structural condition is also unsatisfactory. In addition, the iron structure is damaged during winter maintenance, when the salt used to maintain the road damages the iron structure and causes its destruction.

One of the key factors in choosing the type of structure was the requirement for sufficient flood resistance and accessibility. For this reason, a different architectural solution was chosen than the existing iron structure. The supporting structure of the footbridge will consist of a reinforced concrete structure with access walkways made of interlocking paving. This more robust type of structure will ensure a longer service life and resistance to weather conditions. The construction of both footbridges will be carried out by PORR a. s., which won the tender. The total cost of the work is CZK 6,444,087 including VAT. We will also receive a subsidy of 70% of the total amount for the construction. The footbridges will be closed during construction, and access to the street will be provided by a bridge near the school.

Our municipality faces damage to property due to flash floods or flooding practically every year. The last very severe flood was in September last year. The Ministry of Regional Development regularly issues calls for subsidies for the repair of municipal property after floods. We have already managed to repair many local roads and bridges in recent years thanks to these subsidies.
