With the new decree on waste collection and separation, which the municipality is obliged to create on the basis of the new waste law, we also come with a promised incentive program for all those who try to sort and limit the production of municipal waste. Already in June, we started a fortnightly collection of municipal waste, which brought about a significant reduction in waste production. At the same time, all waste containers (trash bins) in the village were marked with a QR code.

Containers are loaded into the system during individual pickups, so after half a year of operation we can launch the long-promised incentive program. This consists of two discounts for the production of plastic bags and the number of containers handed over for collection. When paying the fee (according to Decree No. 1/2021, CZK 600 per person per year) so that the household's entitlement to a discount will be determined based on the records from the second half of 2021.

In the tables on the right, you can see the households with the number of people and the possible savings that can be achieved. For those who do not want to participate in the incentive program, nothing changes except for the change in the pickup interval. But he must expect to pay the full amount of the fee. After the introduction of fortnightly collection, there was a reduction in the production of municipal water, the volume still remains very high and there are visible fluctuations in it.

A fundamental problem is also the prices at which we export waste from the municipality and hand it over for further processing or landfilling. The price of some wastes will increase from 1 January 2022, and we are convinced that energy and fuel prices will continue to increase in the course of the next year. With the incentive system, we are able to keep the fee at a reasonable amount for now.
